The Pre-processing window enables the user to enter the values for the selected resource point and store them either in an Excel   file (for testing purposes) or to STP .
You can enter the values for the 8 planning horizons , 3 scenarios and 3 year types (dry median, wet) manually or you can use the editing options to copy a scenario to another, multiply them with factors and copy one planning horizon to the other planning years.
The   salinity you enter, is one fixed (single) value for all scenarios and all years. It is for documentary purposes only and is not used by balancing and allocations.

The Editing options
The possible options depend on your selection.
You can either select a row (click into the date field)
or a column (click into the header scenario field).
If selected, the colour changes from gray to pink.
And depending on the selection, the command buttons options are either enabled or disabled .
Editing/Copying Months :
If you want to copy values from one month to the other months, select the month where you entered the source values by clicking on the date field in the first column of the table. The row will be drawn in pink selection colour and the applicable functions will be presented on the right side of the form.
Copy selected months to all months :
All 3 scenario values of the selected month will be copied to the other 14 months.
Copy selected month to the following months :
All 3 scenario values of the selected month will be copied to the following months. If you want to copy month 7 to months 8-15 without copying it to months 1-6, use this option.
Multiply selected month with factor :
If your month 2 is 120% of month 1, you can copy month 1 to following months and then multiply month 2 by the factor 1,20. If you have values for increase/decrease from month to month, you do not need to use a pocket calculator. The program provides all the functions you need.
Editing/Copying Scenarios :
If you want to copy values from one scenario to another scenario, select the scenario where you entered the source values by clicking on the scenario heading.
Copy selected scenario to all scenarios :
All 15 monthly values of the selected scenario will be copied to the other 2 scenarios.
Copy selected scenario to the following scenarios :
All 15 monthly values of the selected scenario will be copied to the following scenarios.
If you want to copy scenario 2 to scenario 3 without overwriting scenario 1, use this option.
Multiply selected scenario with factor :
If your scenario 2 is 120% of scenario 1, you can copy scenario 1 and then multiply it by factor 1,20. This way, editing the scenarios is very fast.
Editing/Copying Years :
If you have edited a planning horizon and you want to copy it to other planning years, you use the functions in the blue box. If, for instance, you want an increase of the resource of 10 percent per year, you fill in the values for the first year (2005), copy this year to all following years and then you browse to year 2010 and multiply all values with the factor of 1.10 (10% increase). Copy year 2010 to the following years, browse to year 2015 and multiply this year again with 1.10. Continue till you edited all years.
Editing / Copying data for different year types
Originally, the additional resources did not distinguish between different year types. While this concept may be correct for fossil groundwater, it is certainly wrong for surface water like Yarmouk River resources. And even for fossil groundwater, it appears reasonable to use less in wet years than in dry years - in order to cempensate for reduced surface water flows.
Any way, the user interface offers the simple option to copy volumes for the selected scenario of the median year type to the other selected year type.
